The Christmas markets in Haute-Savoie are among the must-see events at the end of the year. Between the shores of Lake Geneva, Lake Annecy and the villages of the Mont-Blanc massif, the region is decked out in its finest lights to offer visitors a magical atmosphere, combining local crafts, Savoyard treats and activities for all ages. Here is an overview, updated as details are confirmed, of the most eagerly awaited markets at the end of 2026.
Please note: as of early October, not all the major events have published their detailed 2026 programmes. The dates below are either officially confirmed or marked as to be confirmed. They will be updated as information becomes available.
Thonon-les-Bains Christmas Market – Les Féeriques
Thonon’s Christmas market, known as Les Féeriques, is one of the largest and most popular in Haute-Savoie. It runs from 28 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, every day, between Parc du Belvédère and Avenue du Léman.
Highlights include around fifty food and artisan chalets, an enchanted forest, a 300 m² natural ice rink, a sound-and-light show projected onto the façade of the Town Hall every evening, and, from 18 December, the traditional Luna Park with its thirty or so rides. A free little train connects the festival’s different areas.

Évian-les-Bains Christmas Market – Le Fabuleux Village des Flottins
As Christmas approaches, Évian-les-Bains will once again be transformed by the magical world of Le Fabuleux Village des Flottins. From 11 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, the town centre will host this event, now a festive-season favourite on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Created by Théâtre de la Toupine, the village is home to Flottins and Flottines, surrounded by impressive sculptures made from driftwood washed up by Lake Geneva. Storytelling, workshops, treats and activities will entertain visitors, and Santa Claus will even make an appearance for several days.
The event also stands out for its eco-friendly approach: decorations made from recycled materials, wooden games, rides powered by parents and food outlets that favour local or organic products.
Practical information: 11 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, every day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., in Évian-les-Bains town centre. Free admission.

Annecy Christmas Market – Noël des Alpes
The magic of Christmas is preparing to return to Annecy! From 26 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, the Christmas market will bring the town centre, quays and Jardins de l’Europe to life with nearly 200 chalets.
Artisans, creators and producers will offer gift ideas and delicious specialities in a festive atmosphere. Several activities have also been announced, and the natural ice rink will return for the 2026 edition.
The market will generally be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. in the town centre, with late openings until 10 p.m. at Jardins de l’Europe from Thursday to Saturday. The activities and shows announced by the organisers are free.

In addition to these main markets, several other smaller Christmas markets are held in towns across Haute-Savoie, such as La Clusaz, Saint-Gervais and Samoëns… Often nestled in the mountains, these Christmas markets offer a more intimate atmosphere, ideal for discovering local crafts while enjoying the magnificent snow-covered scenery.

The festive spirit arrives in Samoëns with the return of the Christmas Village. The market will first open on the weekends of 5–6 and 12–13 December 2026, before opening daily from 19 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, from 2 p.m.
In the heart of the village, visitors and families can enjoy an artisan market, as well as shows, workshops and numerous activities in a Christmas atmosphere at the foot of the mountains. The tourist office is still finalising the detailed programme for this edition.
